COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Business Management and Human Resource Management program is structured over three years to provide students with a strong foundation in business management while developing specialised HR expertise. In the first year, students gain essential business knowledge through modules such as how to do business, principles of digital marketing, organisational behaviour with a focus on artificial intelligence and the future of work, international business and market dynamics, and financial environment and analysis. This combination builds both academic and practical skills required for understanding organisational operations and people management. The second year focuses on developing HR-specific knowledge and professional skills, with modules covering managing HR and improving organisational performance, developing professional practice and using information in HR, as well as entrepreneurship and consultancy to encourage innovative thinking. Students also study international operations and supply chain management, supported by the Ruskin Module. In the final year, learning emphasises strategic HR and business management through modules such as HR management in context, reward management, employment law and relations, and strategic management. The program culminates in an undergraduate major project, where students apply theory to real-world HR challenges and research. Overall, the course equips graduates with the analytical, managerial, and people-focused skills necessary for careers in human resource management, business leadership, consultancy, and related roles.
