COURSE CURRICULUM

This course provides a comprehensive education in hospitality, tourism, and events management, with a focus on sustainability, customer service, and strategic business practices. In Year 1, students explore business sustainability, organisational structures, and the origins of hospitality, gaining insight into modern industry operations. Key topics include quality service delivery, human resources, operations scheduling, quality control, economic concepts, accounting, and mathematics, alongside the development of employability skills such as critical thinking and teamwork. Year 2 examines the role of customer service in creating competitive advantages, the strategic role of HR in domestic and multinational organisations, and the importance of marketing in business planning. Students evaluate marketing approaches, apply business development theories, and analyse the unique characteristics of hospitality products and services. In Year 3, the Live Project integrates academic knowledge with practical experience, focusing on organisational strategy, sustainable and ethical tourism, and global industry factors through research and case studies. The Undergraduate Major Project allows students to conduct independent research based on real-world scenarios. Assessment throughout the course combines coursework, group work, exams, and projects, all designed to strengthen transferable skills and enhance career readiness in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
