COURSE CURRICULUM

This agriculture-focused course provides a comprehensive education in sustainable food production, livestock systems, and agribusiness management, equipping students to address modern farming challenges. In the first year, modules cover professional skills, sustainable development principles, biological processes, climate, soils and land use, and livestock and integrated production systems. Students also explore agribusiness management within a circular economy framework and examine global and local food systems. The second year builds on this foundation with academic and professional development, alongside studies in political and economic contexts, international value chains, and advanced livestock production systems. Learners investigate key issues in agricultural production and explore solutions, as well as gain specialised knowledge in fresh produce production. In the final year, students undertake a major dissertation project, while studying natural resource management, livestock technology, and developments in livestock production. They also integrate scientific principles with crop management and develop sustainable business solutions aimed at enhancing agricultural profitability and environmental responsibility. Throughout the course, there is a strong emphasis on combining scientific understanding with practical application, ensuring graduates are prepared to contribute to sustainable and innovative practices in agriculture and food production at both local and global levels.
