COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Business degree is structured to progressively build scientific, practical and commercial expertise across three years of study. In Year 1, students develop a strong foundation in sustainable agriculture and business, exploring ecosystems, biological processes and bio-innovations for land use alongside global business environment and international strategy. Topics such as transforming agriculture towards net zero prepare students to understand sustainability challenges from the outset. Year 2 focuses on applying knowledge to real-world farming and food systems, with modules covering sustainable farming, high welfare animal production, fresh produce production and consumer behaviour. Research methods and team-based problem-solving strengthen analytical and collaborative skills, while the Ruskin Module broadens social and ethical perspectives. In Year 3, students demonstrate advanced academic and professional capability through a major agriculture dissertation and a business consultancy project, linking scientific understanding with commercial problem-solving. Strategic management and natural resource management further develop leadership and sustainability expertise, while advanced global business and circular economy modules enhance international and environmental awareness. Together, the program provides a balanced blend of agricultural science, sustainability and business strategy, preparing graduates for diverse careers in agribusiness, consultancy, farm management, sustainability roles and global food systems.
