COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering degree at ARU provides a structured progression from foundational engineering principles to advanced, industry-relevant skills. In Year 1, students gain a solid grounding in core engineering concepts, including Introduction to Engineering, Applied Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Dynamics, and Embedded Systems, while developing practical expertise through project-based modules such as Manufacturing and Materials Project and the Mechatronic Design Project. The Into ARU module supports students’ transition into university-level study. Year 2 focuses on specialised technical skills, covering Electric Machines, Sensors and Actuators, Robotics Software Development and Modelling, and Advanced Engineering Skills. Hands-on project work, including the Electronic Design Project and Robotic Control Design Project, allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems, while the Ruskin Module enhances broader academic and professional development. In the final year, students undertake advanced research and practical projects, including the Research Methods and Individual Project, the Electronic and Electrical System Design Project, and modules in Automation and Control and Robotics and Machine Intelligence. This combination of analytical study, project-based learning, and exposure to industry practices ensures graduates are well-prepared to design, develop, and implement complex mechatronic and robotic systems. By the end of the program, students have cultivated technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and professional skills, equipping them for careers in robotics, automation, manufacturing, and advanced engineering sectors.
