COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Science degree at ARU Cambridge provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for a career in computing. In Year 1, students build a solid foundation through modules in computer systems, operating systems, software principles, programming, and core mathematics for computing, developing both theoretical understanding and practical problem-solving abilities. Year 2 focuses on advanced technical skills and professional development, covering computing research methodologies, database design and implementation, digital security, algorithm analysis and data structures, network routing, and software engineering, along with the Ruskin module to broaden intellectual and creative perspectives. In Year 3, students consolidate their learning with a final project, applying knowledge to solve complex, real-world computing challenges. Optional modules allow specialization in areas such as artificial intelligence, ethical hacking and countermeasures, digital and network security forensics, advanced network solutions, embedded computing, image processing, cloud computing, computer graphics programming, and professional issues in computing and society. The course emphasizes both practical experience and theoretical insight, ensuring students gain proficiency in software development, networking, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
