COURSE CURRICULUM

This course provides a structured pathway to develop creative, technical, and professional skills in animation and illustration. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Animation Skills, Illustration and Animation Practice, Sequential Practice, and Sequential Structures and Contexts, alongside the Into ARU module, which supports academic and personal development. Year 2 focuses on advancing practical abilities with Animation Practice and Computer Generated Imagery, while also encouraging critical thinking through the Critical Issues and Debates module. The Ruskin Module allows students to engage in interdisciplinary learning and broaden their creative perspective. In the final year, students consolidate their skills through Professional Sequential Practice, gaining experience in producing industry-ready work. The Working in the Creative Industries module prepares them for professional careers, offering insights into industry practices, networking, and career planning. The Research Project provides an opportunity to explore a chosen topic in depth, combining creative experimentation with academic research. By the end of the course, graduates will have developed a distinctive creative style, a solid portfolio, and the knowledge required to succeed in animation, illustration, and related fields.
