COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Artificial Intelligence program is structured to provide a balanced combination of core and optional modules, giving students both essential foundations and opportunities to specialise in areas of interest. The listed modules are those currently planned for delivery in the next academic year and may be subject to change, but they offer a clear indication of the overall course structure. Core modules focus on building a strong theoretical and practical understanding of artificial intelligence and related computing concepts. These include Computational Intelligence, which explores intelligent problem-solving techniques, and Fundamentals of Intelligent Systems, which introduces the principles underpinning AI technologies. Machine Learning for Intelligent Systems develops skills in designing and applying learning algorithms, while Statistical Concepts, Methods and Tools equips students with the quantitative techniques needed for data analysis and modelling. Research Topics in Computing supports the development of academic research skills, preparing students for independent investigation. The program culminates in a substantial Dissertation, allowing students to apply their knowledge to an in-depth research or applied project. Optional modules enable further specialisation, with choices such as Advanced Algorithms, Computational Bioinformatics, Computer Vision and Robotic Applications. Together, these modules provide flexibility, depth and a coherent learning pathway that prepares graduates for advanced professional practice or further research in artificial intelligence.
