COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Plant Biology degree at Aberystwyth University provides a thorough exploration of plant life from molecular to ecosystem levels, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills. In the first year, students develop foundational understanding in cell biology, genetics, evolution, microbial and plant diversity, and agricultural land management, alongside essential skills for biologists. In the second year, the focus expands to agronomy, crop improvement, climate change impacts on plants and ecosystems, controlled environment crop production, and research methods, with opportunities to choose optional modules in areas such as molecular biology, bioinformatics, aquatic botany, GIS, and wildlife surveying.
