COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Business and Climate Change degree at Aberystwyth University combines business education with a deep understanding of environmental issues, preparing students to address the challenges of a rapidly changing climate. In the first year, students develop a foundation in data analytics, accounting, finance, management, marketing, and climate science, while also exploring interdisciplinary approaches to climate change. The second year focuses on corporate governance, risk, ethics, human resource management, operations, and supply chain management, alongside research methods and a simulation module examining climate governance. Optional modules in the second year allow students to explore climate change impacts on ecosystems, entrepreneurship, global development, and marketing. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through a dissertation, gaining experience in independent research, while also studying organizational psychology and strategic leadership. A wide range of optional modules further enhances practical and applied knowledge, including crisis writing, digital business management, environmental economics, global biodiversity conservation, population and community ecology, global logistics, and marketing communication. Throughout the course, students learn to analyse complex environmental and business problems, understand the economic, social, and ecological dimensions of climate change, and develop strategies for sustainable business practices. Graduates are equipped to support organisations in balancing profitability with environmental responsibility and societal impact, contributing to sustainable business solutions and climate action.
