COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Water and Environmental Management program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to successfully manage water and environmental projects from inception to completion. Core modules such as Project Management, Health, Safety and Environmental Management, Water Engineering, and Waste, Wastewater Management and Climate Change provide a comprehensive foundation in both technical and managerial aspects of environmental practice. Students develop a strong understanding of the design, operation, and evaluation of water systems, including approaches to mitigate pollution, manage urban water resources, and address climate-related challenges. The program also offers optional modules like Renewable Energy Technologies and Offshore Geotechnical Engineering, allowing students to tailor their learning to emerging areas of environmental engineering and sustainable infrastructure. Research Methods equips students with the analytical and investigative skills needed to evaluate environmental data and inform decision-making, while the MSc Dissertation provides the opportunity to conduct an in-depth, work-based or research-focused project that consolidates theoretical knowledge and practical application. Emphasizing hands-on learning, sustainability, and regulatory awareness, the course prepares graduates for careers in environmental management, consultancy, water utilities, and governmental or industrial organisations, empowering them to develop innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions for water and environmental challenges in urban, industrial, and global contexts.
