COURSE CURRICULUM

This program provides an in-depth and advanced understanding of key areas in accounting and finance, preparing students for strategic roles in the field. The module on Advanced Financial Reporting and Analysis develops students' skills in preparing and interpreting financial statements, with a strong emphasis on international financial reporting standards and critical perspectives on traditional accounting practices. Complementing this is Advanced Management Accounting for Decision Making, which focuses on the role of management accounting in influencing short- and long-term organisational decisions through planning, analysis, control, and internal reporting. The Case Studies in Management Accounting module adds a practical dimension, requiring students to work on real business issues and produce management reports with actionable recommendations. Advanced Performance Management introduces students to strategic management accounting, exploring current theories and emerging techniques that support effective strategic decision-making within organisations. Project Management equips students with tools and methodologies necessary to successfully manage complex projects, including evaluating real-life project failures and proposing improved strategies. In Research Methods, students gain a solid foundation in research design and statistical analysis, applying both qualitative and quantitative techniques in practical settings. This prepares them for their final module, the Accounting and Finance Dissertation, where they independently investigate a chosen topic in the field. Through this dissertation, students demonstrate their ability to critically analyse and evaluate a specific area of interest, applying knowledge gained throughout the course. Together, these modules offer a comprehensive education in accounting and finance, combining theoretical understanding with real-world application. The program is designed to develop high-level analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, enabling graduates to meet the demands of complex financial roles across industries and preparing them for leadership positions within the field.
