COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Product Development master’s program is structured over two years to equip students with advanced skills in engineering design, digitalisation, and sustainable product development. In the first year, students begin with core courses such as Applied Engineering Design and Multidisciplinary Optimization, which build a strong foundation in solving complex engineering problems. They also study Digitalization and Automation in Engineering Processes, focusing on how modern tools transform industrial workflows, and Integrated Product and Production Development, which links design with manufacturing processes. In the spring semester, the focus shifts to materials and process selection for product design, production preparation and industrialisation, and product and production platforms, ensuring students understand how products move from concept to large-scale production. Sustainable Product Realisation emphasizes environmentally responsible development practices. In the second year, students undertake a project course that allows them to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios, alongside studies in applied AI in product and production development and advanced research methodology. They also have the opportunity to study abroad, gaining international exposure. The program concludes with a final project work in product development, where students demonstrate their ability to solve real-world engineering challenges. Overall, it prepares graduates for careers in digital engineering, industrial innovation, and sustainable product development.
