COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science with Honours in Data Science program provides students with strong theoretical foundations and practical skills in mathematics, statistics, computing, machine learning, and data analysis. In Level 4, students study modules such as Probability and Statistics, Mathematical Methods, Principles of Data Science, IT Literacy and Core Skills, Linear Algebra, Data Science Laboratory 1, Computational Modelling, and Principles of Data Presentation. These subjects introduce students to core concepts in data science, mathematical analysis, computational thinking, and technical communication while helping them build essential analytical and problem-solving skills. In Level 5, students progress to more advanced topics including Programming, Information Theory, Big Data and High-Performance Computing, Blockchains and Cryptocurrencies, Statistical Modelling, Introduction to Machine Learning and Neural Networks, Game Theory, and Data Science Laboratory 2. These modules focus on developing expertise in machine learning, big data technologies, blockchain systems, advanced statistical analysis, and computational modelling. Through practical laboratory sessions and project-based learning, students gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software, data analysis tools, and programming techniques used in modern data science environments. The program combines theoretical understanding with practical applications to prepare students for careers in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, business analytics, software development, and other technology-driven industries that rely on data-driven decision-making and advanced computational solutions.
