COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Pharmaceutical Science program provides students with strong foundations in chemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical science through a combination of theoretical study and practical scientific training. In the first academic year, students study modules such as Big Ideas in Science: Life, the Universe and Everything, Biology of Cell and Organism, Chemistry 1A and 1B, Making Sense of Data, and Pharmaceutical Formulation A. These subjects introduce students to core scientific principles, biological systems, chemical processes, pharmaceutical formulations, and data analysis skills relevant to modern pharmaceutical and biomedical industries. Students may also choose elective modules including Human Biosciences A, Infections, Pandemics and Epidemics, and Mathematical Applications in Biology to broaden their understanding of health sciences and biological systems. In the second academic year, students progress to more advanced modules such as Career Options and Professional Identity, Introduction to Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Medicinal and Organic Chemistry, Metabolic Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and Pharmacology A. Additional elective modules including Pharmacology B and Fundamentals of Chemistry B allow students to deepen their understanding of drug actions, therapeutic science, and advanced chemistry concepts. The program combines scientific knowledge with laboratory-based learning to prepare students for careers in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical research, and healthcare-related industries.
