COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Mechanical Engineering program provides students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills across core areas of mechanical engineering, design, manufacturing, and engineering management. The curriculum begins with foundational subjects such as Engineering Mathematics, Electrical Science, Mechanical Science, Academic Writing for Sciences, Engineering Applications, Manufacturing Technology and Materials, and Design, helping students build strong technical and analytical capabilities. As the program progresses, students study more advanced topics including Solid Mechanics and Dynamics, Thermofluid Mechanics, Analytical Modelling, Engineering Management, Design and Sustainability, Instrumentation and Control, and Effective Communication Skills. These modules develop students’ understanding of mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, structural analysis, engineering design processes, and sustainable engineering practices. The program also focuses on research, innovation, and professional development through modules such as Academic Writing for Dissertation and Research Projects, Individual Project, Mechanical Product Innovation, Stress and Dynamic Analysis, Computational Thermo-fluids, Finite Element Analysis and Optimisation, and Professional Development and Project Planning. Through a combination of theoretical learning, technical analysis, and practical applications, students gain experience in solving complex engineering problems and developing innovative mechanical solutions.
