COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Communication program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of media, communication, journalism, and public relations in a modern global environment. The course includes communication core modules such as Audience Participation and Interaction, Communication, Creativity and Cultural Production, Creative Collaborations, Digital Media Engagement, Global Media Industries, Media and Communication Concepts, and Media, Culture and Narrative, which help students develop critical thinking, creative communication, and digital media skills. Students also complete compulsory modules including Introduction to Media Production and Introduction to Professional Writing to strengthen practical media and writing capabilities. In addition, students choose a career-ready placement module in either Create Your Own Business or Entrepreneurship to enhance professional and entrepreneurial skills. The program offers specialised majors in News Media and Public Relations. The News Media major focuses on journalism, media production, data visualisation, feature writing, podcasting, and multiplatform storytelling, preparing students for careers in contemporary media industries. The Public Relations major develops expertise in strategic communication, campaign planning, public affairs, communication research, and stakeholder engagement. Students may also select elective modules depending on availability. Assessment methods for the program may include assignments, projects, and final examinations, allowing students to apply theoretical concepts to practical communication and media-related situations while building professional portfolios and industry-relevant experience.
