COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diploma (Specialized in Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management) is designed to provide students, whether they have prior experience or are completely new to the field, with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to understand the nature of events, tourism, hospitality, and related products from both local and international viewpoints. The program introduces learners to the core principles, operational practices, and industry trends shaping these interconnected sectors, helping them gain a broad and informed perspective on how global and regional factors influence service delivery, customer experiences, and business outcomes. Throughout the course, students explore key concepts such as event planning, tourism structures, hospitality operations, service management, cultural considerations, and the economic significance of these industries. The curriculum emphasizes not only theoretical foundations but also experiential learning to prepare students for real-world professional environments. As part of this practice-oriented approach, selected students may have the opportunity to participate in a six-month on-the-job training placement in a reputable event, hospitality, or tourism organization in Singapore. This attachment aims to strengthen industry readiness, enhance workplace skills, and allow students to apply classroom knowledge in day-to-day operational settings. For students who are not selected for the internship, the program offers an alternative pathway through an industry project to be completed within two months. This project requires students to analyze industry issues, conduct relevant research, and propose informed solutions based on current practices and emerging trends. Regardless of the pathway taken, all students gain valuable insights and hands-on experience that support their academic development and future career prospects. Overall, the diploma equips learners with a balanced combination of theoretical understanding and practical exposure, enabling them to pursue career opportunities or further studies in events, tourism, and hospitality management.
