COURSE CURRICULUM

The course is designed to focus on the latest developments and emerging trends in the hospitality and tourism industry, ensuring that students are equipped with up-to-date knowledge that reflects the current needs of this rapidly evolving sector. It aims to help learners build a strong understanding of both theoretical principles and practical skills across various aspects of hospitality and tourism management. This includes developing knowledge in areas such as service operations, customer experience, tourism systems, event coordination, and organisational management. The program is suitable for individuals who wish to enter the industry as well as those who are already working in hospitality and tourism and want to advance their careers by strengthening their professional capabilities. Through a combination of classroom learning, applied case studies, and industry-focused activities, students are encouraged to think critically, solve problems, and understand how global and local trends influence business operations and customer expectations. To further enhance practical experience, selected students may be given the opportunity to undergo a six-month on-the-job training attachment with an established event, hospitality, or tourism organisation in Singapore. This real-world exposure allows them to apply their learning, gain confidence in workplace settings, and develop valuable skills that support future employment. For students who are not placed in an internship, the course provides an alternative pathway through an industry project that must be completed within two months. This project requires students to conduct research, analyse industry issues, and present practical recommendations based on their studies. Regardless of the pathway, the course ensures that every learner receives meaningful applied learning that complements the theoretical components of the curriculum. Overall, the program prepares students for a wide range of roles within the hospitality and tourism sector by equipping them with essential knowledge, practical insights, and industry-relevant experience.
