COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diploma of Commerce program at Curtin College is completed during Trimesters 3 and 4 and offers students the opportunity to follow either the General Commerce Pathway or the Accounting and Financial Planning Pathway. Both pathways are designed to strengthen students’ understanding of business operations, management practices, financial decision-making, and professional communication. Core subjects common to both pathways include Communication, Culture and Indigenous Perspectives in Business, Markets and Legal Frameworks, Financial Decision Making, Analytics for Decision Making, and Strategic Career Design. These units help students build analytical, communication, and leadership skills required in modern business environments. Students in the General Commerce Pathway additionally study Introduction to Business Information Systems, Marketing Across Borders, and Human Resources Management Introduction, providing broader exposure to business technology, international marketing, and workforce management. Students in the Accounting and Financial Planning Pathway focus more on economics, law, and finance through units such as Introductory Economics, Applied Contract Law, and Introduction to Finance Principles. The program combines academic theory with practical business knowledge to prepare students for further studies and professional careers. Upon successful completion, students graduate with a Diploma of Commerce certificate awarded by Curtin College.
