COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diploma of Arts and Creative Industries at Curtin College requires students to complete 400 credits to graduate, with most units carrying 25 credits each. The program is divided into two stages across four trimesters and is designed to build foundational academic, business, communication, and creative industry skills. In Stage 1, students study subjects such as Accounting, Academic Research and Writing, Management, and Marketing during the first trimester, followed by Academic Communication Skills, Economics, Computer Skills, and Studies in Society in the second trimester. These units help students develop essential academic knowledge, communication abilities, and an understanding of business and society. In Stage 2, the focus shifts toward media, communication, and creative practice. During the third trimester, students study Web Communications, Academic and Professional Communications, Introduction to Screen Practice, and Design Computing. In the fourth trimester, students complete units including Engaging Media, Culture to Cultures, Introduction to Print, and Marketing Across Borders. The program combines theoretical learning with practical and creative applications, preparing students for further studies in communication and media-related fields. Upon successful completion, students graduate with a Diploma of Arts and Creative Industries awarded by Curtin College.
