COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Marketing at Curtin University requires students to complete 600 credits to graduate, with most units carrying 25 credits each. The course is structured across six trimesters and combines financial studies with marketing knowledge to prepare students for careers in both industries. In the early stages of the program, students study foundational business subjects such as Financial Decision Making, Discovering Marketing, Analytics for Decision Making, Communication, Culture and Indigenous Perspectives in Business, Strategic Career Design, Markets and Legal Frameworks, Introduction to Finance Principles, and Introduction to Global Business. These units help students develop business, communication, and analytical skills while understanding global business operations and financial systems. As students progress, they study advanced finance and marketing subjects including Introduction to Financial Instruments and Markets, Business Analysis for Investment, Consumer Behaviour, Quantitative Techniques for Business, Marketing Intelligence, Digital Marketing and E-Commerce, Corporate Finance, and Marketing Across Borders. In the final trimesters, students focus on areas such as Portfolio Management, Introduction to Derivative Securities, Strategic Marketing, Services Marketing, Managing Social Media Platforms, and International Finance. The course combines theoretical and practical learning to prepare graduates for careers in banking, investment, digital marketing, brand management, financial analysis, advertising, and business development across local and international industries.
