COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Youth and Community Leadership (BYCL) is a 360-point degree that prepares students to lead social change and address community challenges. It includes 150 points of compulsory leadership development courses, 105 points of approved electives, and up to 105 points from any other bachelor’s degree at UC. At least 225 points must be at 200-level or above. The program spans three years of full-time study or up to six years part-time. Students begin with foundational courses in youth leadership and social innovation, and progress to advanced topics in civic leadership, education, and applied community projects. In the final year, students complete a leadership project that implements real-world change. The degree is flexible and allows students to personalise their studies with a minor, chosen from a broad range of subjects across Arts, Commerce, Digital Screen, Health, Product Design, Science, or Sport. The BYCL equips graduates with practical and theoretical tools to lead inclusive, transformative initiatives in various professional, community, and global contexts.
