COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Sport (BSport) is a three-year degree comprising 360 points, including 135 points of compulsory courses, 120 points toward a major, and additional points from Sport or other degree courses. At least 225 points must be at 200-level or above, with 90 at 300-level. The degree covers themes such as sport in society, performance and science, leadership, and education, beginning with foundational courses in coaching, anatomy, society, and governance. In the second and third years, students explore culture in sport, evidence-based practice, inclusivity, and undertake an internship. Majors include Performance Data Analysis, Physical Activity and Wellbeing, Sport Coaching and Physical Education, Sport Marketing and Management, Strength and Conditioning, and Te Ao Hākinakina, with the latter two required for double majors. Students can also complete a minor from a wide range of disciplines across the university, including health, science, business, digital media, and the arts. The degree provides practical experience and industry engagement, preparing students for diverse roles in sport, health, education, and leadership.
