COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Product Design requires a minimum of 360 points, including 120 points of compulsory courses and 240 points from major courses. At least 225 points must be taken at levels above 100, with a minimum of 75 points at 300-level. Students can also choose to complete a minor from Product Design or other fields such as Arts, Commerce, Digital Screen, Health, Science, Sport, or Youth and Community Leadership, which may increase the total degree points to 375 or 390 and potentially extend the study duration. The degree combines coursework and hands-on design projects, emphasizing independent and team work guided by experienced academics.In the first year, students complete core courses including Product Design 1, Fundamentals of Management, Design Principles or Foundations of Engineering, a 100-level Mathematics course, and major-specific 100-level courses. The second year includes Principles of Marketing and 200-level major courses. In the third year, students choose two courses at the 200 or 300 level from areas such as Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Innovation, Management, or Marketing, alongside 300-level major courses.Students can specialise in one of three majors: Chemical Formulation Design, Digital Product Design, or Industrial Product Design. The program equips graduates with creative, technical, and business skills necessary to develop and commercialise innovative products across various industries.
