COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Applied Science (Biodiversity Management) is structured to provide both advanced theoretical knowledge and applied research skills. To complete the qualification, students must earn a total of 180 credits. This includes four compulsory Level 8 papers, each worth 15 credits, amounting to 60 credits in total. These papers are: Applied Research Methods, which equips students with essential research skills; Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement, focusing on effective collaboration with communities and organisations; Biosecurity: Strategy and Implementation, which explores the management of threats to biodiversity; and Environmental Monitoring, covering techniques for assessing environmental health. In addition to these, students must complete a 120-credit research component at Level 9, typically in the form of a thesis. This major research project allows students to explore a specific area of biodiversity management in depth and apply their learning to real-world environmental issues.
