COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Applied Professional Studies – Mentoring and Leadership includes a range of advanced topics designed to enhance professional practice. Students will explore Critical Reflective Practice to develop self-awareness and evaluate their leadership approaches, while the Professional Leadership course focuses on leadership theories and practical application in workplace settings. Adult Learning Theory provides a foundation in how adults learn, supporting effective mentoring and teaching strategies. Building Professional Relationships for Mentoring emphasizes the importance of trust, communication, and collaboration in mentoring roles. Mentoring and Supervision deepens understanding of guiding and supporting professional development in others. Nga Tikanga Rangahau: Research Protocols introduces students to research ethics, methodologies, and planning, preparing them for the final stage of the program—a substantial Research Project or Dissertation—where they independently investigate a relevant issue in their professional context.
