COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the program, students focus on building a strong foundation in computing through six core courses covering essential computing knowledge, along with a programming course that emphasizes program design and implementation using object-oriented programming. The core courses include programming concepts, computing technology in society, IT project management, database system design, collaborative practices, and mathematics for computing. Alongside these, students take the object-oriented programming course and begin coursework for their second major, minor, or elective subjects. In the second year, the focus shifts to more advanced software development skills, including software development practice, program design and construction, data structures, operating systems, and algorithms. Students study courses such as software development practice, program design and construction, and data structures and algorithms, while also choosing between operating systems or algorithm design and analysis. Throughout the year, students continue to take courses related to their second major, minor, or electives, further broadening their knowledge. The third year emphasizes specialized topics, such as human-computer interaction, software engineering issues, distributed and mobile systems, and web development. Key courses include applied human-computer interaction, contemporary issues in software engineering, and a choice between distributed and mobile systems or web development. This year also includes the final courses for the student’s second major, minor, or elective areas. Overall, the three-year structure combines foundational knowledge, practical software development skills, and specialized topics, alongside complementary courses in other disciplines, to prepare students comprehensively for careers in computing and related fields.
