COURSE CURRICULUM
In the first year, students focus on building a solid foundation in computing by studying six core courses that introduce essential computing concepts and skills. These courses cover foundational knowledge and include a programming course that teaches program design and implementation using object-oriented programming. Alongside these core courses, students also begin coursework for their second major, minor, or elective subjects, allowing them to explore additional areas of interest early in their studies. In the second year, the curriculum advances to more specialized topics, including data structures and algorithms, which are fundamental for efficient problem-solving and software development. Students also study computer graphics programming, which introduces them to visual computing and design, and logical and combinatorial tools and methods, which provide critical thinking and problem-solving techniques. During this year, students continue to take courses related to their second major, minor, or electives, helping to broaden their academic experience and skill set. The third year focuses on deeper theoretical and practical aspects of computer science. Students engage with courses in computation theory, which examines the fundamental principles behind computing processes, programming languages, where they learn about different coding paradigms and language design, and distributed and mobile systems, exploring the development and management of networked and portable computing environments. Alongside these specialized computer science courses, students complete the final courses for their second major, minor, or electives, completing their broader educational goals. This structured approach over three years ensures students gain a comprehensive understanding of computer science, combining theoretical foundations, practical skills, and interdisciplinary knowledge to prepare them for diverse career opportunities in the technology field and beyond.
