COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of the information systems program, students begin by taking four core courses in the first semester that introduce fundamental business concepts. These courses include consumer and organisational behaviour, financial decision making and information systems, economics and international business, and ethics, responsibility, and sustainability. These subjects provide a strong foundation in understanding how businesses operate and the key principles that guide ethical and sustainable practices. In the second semester, students focus more specifically on business information systems, learning about the role and application of technology in business environments. They may also choose additional courses related to information systems and begin their studies in a second major, minor, or elective courses, allowing them to tailor their education to their interests and career goals.In the second and third years, the curriculum shifts toward more advanced topics related to analysing and modelling business processes, designing and implementing databases, and managing projects. Students study courses such as business process management, business data management, and project management to develop practical skills needed to improve and support business operations. Further courses include enterprise information systems, cyber-security and risk management, digital transformation and social impact, and designing systems for contemporary enterprises. These courses equip students with the knowledge to address current challenges in the business and technology landscape, including the integration of digital technologies and managing risks associated with cyber threats.Throughout the program, students continue to take courses from their second major, minor, or electives, providing a well-rounded education that combines business, technology, and specialised knowledge. This comprehensive approach ensures graduates are prepared to design, implement, and manage information systems that support business objectives, drive innovation, and contribute to organisational success in a dynamic digital world.
