COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Applied Arts (Digital Media) program spans three years and is structured to progressively build the creative, technical, and critical thinking skills needed for a successful career in digital media. In the first year, students are introduced to key theoretical and creative foundations. Courses such as Philosophy and Psychology explore the human experience and thought processes, while Sociology and Media Studies examine the role of media in society. Art History and Constructing Digital Images introduces students to the evolution of visual arts and practical skills in digital image creation. The year concludes with a Production Project, offering students hands-on experience in bringing digital media concepts to life.In the second year, the focus shifts toward deepening students’ understanding of human culture and enhancing their technical expertise. Anthropology provides insights into cultural diversity and human behavior—key elements for authentic and inclusive storytelling. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving encourages students to approach digital media challenges with analytical and creative strategies. Digital Image Creation I and II build advanced technical skills, allowing students to explore animation, visual effects, and other forms of digital content creation in greater depth.The third and final year is centered around developing a major project or gaining professional experience. Courses in Project Ideation and Project Pre-Production guide students through the development and planning stages of a digital media project. Students then choose between completing a Digital Media Capstone Project—an original work that showcases their creative and technical abilities—or undertaking a Digital Media Capstone Internship, gaining valuable industry experience. This final year integrates all prior learning and prepares students for roles in animation, motion graphics, visual effects, and digital storytelling. The program equips graduates with the creative confidence and technical skillset to contribute to the digital media industry in a meaningful way.
