COURSE CURRICULUM

The MBM (MSc) in Sports Business at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences is structured over three semesters and combines core business education with specialised knowledge of the global sports industry. In Semester 1, students study core modules such as Marketing Management, Globalisation, Society & Culture, Research Methods Introduction for the Final Project, The World Economy, and Professional Inquiry. Alongside these, they complete specialisation modules including Critical Perspectives in Sports & Leisure and Sports in the Global Marketplace, which explore the social, cultural, and commercial dimensions of sport. In Semester 2, students continue with core subjects such as Research Methods for the Final Project, Micro Economics from global perspectives, and Strategic Management, as well as a Project Module consisting of three project weeks linked to the Final Project. The specialisation modules in this semester are Strategic Sports Business Management and Ethics & Social Responsibility in Sports, focusing on leadership, governance, and responsible decision-making in sports organisations. Semester 3 is dedicated to Professional-Based Learning, where students gain practical industry experience through a work placement, followed by the Final Project. This structure ensures graduates develop both theoretical understanding and practical skills in sports business management, preparing them for careers in sports organisations, event management, marketing, consultancy, and leadership roles within the global sports industry.
