COURSE CURRICULUM

This MBM (MSc) with specialisation in the Events Industry at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences is structured to develop both strong business management foundations and specialised expertise in event planning and management. The program is designed for students aiming to work in international event organisations, corporate event departments, cultural festivals, exhibitions, and large-scale global events. It combines academic learning with practical application through case studies, research-based study, project weeks, professional enquiry, a work placement, and a final project closely linked to real industry practice. In Semester 1, students study core business modules such as Marketing Management, The World Economy, Globalisation, Society & Culture, Research Methods Introduction, and Professional Inquiry. Alongside these, they take specialisation modules including Critical Perspectives in Event Management and New Media, Marketing and Analytics, which introduce them to digital tools and critical industry thinking. In Semester 2, students progress to more advanced learning with modules such as Strategic Management, Micro Economics – Global Perspectives, and Research Methods for the Final Project. The specialisation modules focus on Event Design & Management and Event Theory & Practice, helping students understand both the creative and operational sides of the industry. Semester 3 focuses on Professional-Based Learning and the Final Project, allowing students to apply their knowledge in a real-world or research context.
