COURSE CURRICULUM

The Economics and Management program provides students with a broad understanding of key business areas that are essential to the success and economic growth of organisations. It focuses on core business functions such as quality control, logistics, financial management, and business accountancy, helping students develop practical and analytical skills. The program includes exciting opportunities such as excursions to profit and non-profit organisations, allowing students to gain real-world insights. Students are also encouraged to develop entrepreneurial abilities by creating a start-up business through modules like Business Plan. Key modules include World-Wide Business and Law, Logistics, and Quality Management, alongside Accounting, Bookkeeping, and Finance, which prepare students for effective business administration. In the second year, students study specialised courses such as Procurement and Production, Business Philosophy, and Managing Organisations. Procurement and Production focuses on purchasing, supply functions, and their relationship with other parts of an enterprise. Business Philosophy introduces students to the ideas of major economic thinkers like Adam Smith, Karl Marx, and John Maynard Keynes, helping them critically analyse management literature and understand political economy. Managing Organisations teaches students to identify and evaluate financial, physical, and intangible resources and understand how these contribute to organisational capabilities and competitive advantage, preparing graduates to become effective managers, executives, and entrepreneurs in diverse industries.
