ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences (WUAS), known in Dutch as Hogeschool Wittenborg, is a government-accredited private vocational university in the Netherlands. Established in 1987 in Deventer by businessman H. Nijkamp, the institution initially offered Dutch-language programs in banking, insurance, and real estate, catering mainly to former military personnel. In 2002, Wittenborg partnered with BTC, an international consultancy, and began offering international, English-taught business programs. These programs gained formal accreditation in 2006 from the Netherlands and Flemish Accreditation Agency (NVAO), as well as the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA).WUAS officially adopted its current name in 2013 and is now headquartered in Apeldoorn. The university offers a range of bachelor's and master's degrees in business, hospitality, communication, and entrepreneurship, all taught in English. It attracts students from over 97 countries, positioning itself as an international management school. Recognised by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Wittenborg is registered in the Central Register of Higher Education (CROHO) and follows national educational regulations.Wittenborg emphasizes practical, globally-oriented business education, and has built a reputation for internationalisation. This was highlighted in 2016 when Dutch Minister Jet Bussemaker cited the university as a model for integrating internationalisation throughout its programs. Today, WUAS continues to focus on applied sciences education within a multicultural environment, maintaining a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship and small to medium enterprise (SME) management.
