COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is carefully structured to provide students with both a strong theoretical foundation and extensive research experience, preparing them for academic or professional careers in psychology and related fields. The curriculum is composed of core courses, electives, and a substantial thesis project, with each element designed to complement and reinforce the others. The Literature Seminar (10 EC) introduces students to central debates and contemporary findings in psychology, training them to critically evaluate scientific literature and engage with key theoretical perspectives. The Research Seminar (10 EC) builds on this foundation by offering students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of advanced research topics and methodologies, often in close connection with ongoing faculty research projects. The Research Workshop (5 EC) emphasizes practical training, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in data collection, experimental design, and analysis techniques that are central to high-level psychological research. Academic skills are further developed in the Academic Skills and Thesis Seminar (5 EC), which focuses on scholarly writing, presenting research, and preparing for the thesis process.Students are also encouraged to broaden or deepen their expertise through optional courses (10 EC), selected from a wide range of modules offered within the program or across related disciplines at the university. This flexibility enables students to tailor the program to their personal research interests or career ambitions. The culmination of the program is the master’s thesis and final examination (20 EC), where students design and conduct an independent research project under close supervision. This provides the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge and methodological skills to an original research question, while contributing to the scientific community. Altogether, the program’s structure ensures a balanced mix of coursework, skill development, and research, offering students an academically rigorous yet flexible pathway toward professional or scholarly success.
