COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Strategic Management at Rotterdam School of Management is structured to provide both a strong theoretical foundation and practical experience in strategy. The program begins in September with core courses designed to immerse students in strategic management theory and practice. Through experiential learning, you will engage in case studies, group projects, and a live consulting project for a real-world client. These activities not only develop your analytical and problem-solving skills but also foster collaboration and networking with fellow students.In the spring semester, the program allows you to tailor your learning by selecting three electives from an extensive, annually updated portfolio. This flexibility enables you to align your studies with your career goals and emerging industry trends. Elective examples include core strategy consulting skills, a managerial perspective on mergers and acquisitions, programming fundamentals using Python, managing intellectual property in alliances, organising for technological transformation, ecosystem thinking in strategic management and entrepreneurship, and corporate societal and political strategies.Graduation requirements include training in analytical and research skills and the completion of an individual thesis in strategic management. The thesis provides an opportunity to conduct in-depth research on a strategic topic of your choice, demonstrating mastery of theoretical knowledge and practical application. Overall, this program equips students with the expertise, experience, and strategic mindset necessary to excel in international management roles and to drive impactful decisions in complex business environments.
