COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master Governance of Migration and Diversity offers a structured curriculum designed to provide both theoretical foundations and practical insights into migration and diversity issues. The program is divided into general courses and track-specific courses, with a total of 60 EC.The general courses, accounting for 30 EC, are spread across the first three blocks. In Blocks 1 and 2, students take Governance of Migration and Diversity (5 EC), History of Migration and Diversity (5 EC), Sociology of Migration and Diversity (5 EC), Legal Perspectives on Migration and Diversity (5 EC), and Politics of Migration and Diversity (5 EC). Block 3 focuses on Migration and Development (5 EC) and Social Inequality in the City, Diversity and Design (5 EC). These courses provide a comprehensive understanding of the historical, sociological, legal, political, and developmental aspects of migration and diversity, while encouraging students to critically engage with contemporary challenges.Students who choose the Public Administration track also complete 30 EC of specialised courses. Block 1 includes Comparative Public Policy, which equips students with analytical tools to study governance systems. In Block 3, students follow Media, Governance and Politics (5 EC) and Designing Migration Policy Research (5 EC), providing practical skills in policy analysis and research design. Block 4 is dedicated to the thesis (15 EC), allowing students to conduct an in-depth, supervised research project on a topic relevant to migration and diversity.Overall, the program balances foundational knowledge with applied research skills, preparing students for careers in policy, public administration, international organisations, and research institutions. It emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, critical analysis, and practical engagement with real-world migration and diversity issues.
