COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s specialisation in Financial Economics is structured around three main tracks: Corporate Finance, Investment, and Financial Innovation, each comprising roughly one-third of the curriculum. This structure allows students to gain a balanced and in-depth understanding of key areas in finance, from analysing corporate strategy to applying innovative financial solutions. In class, students engage with real-world cases that require critical thinking and practical application. For example, when deciding on a company acquisition, students must evaluate the firm’s business model, competitive landscape, and projected operating cash flows. They also consider financing strategies, such as the use of debt, and develop optimal bidding strategies. Insights and guidance from experienced private equity investors and investment bankers help students connect theoretical knowledge to practical decision-making. The program includes core courses, electives, and seminars, which focus on interactive and applied learning, enabling students to tackle complex financial problems collaboratively. Throughout the year, students also work on their Master’s thesis in Financial Economics, applying the concepts, methods, and analytical tools acquired during the program to an individual research project. This combination of rigorous coursework, practical case studies, and independent research ensures that graduates are well-equipped to excel in academic or professional roles in finance, investments, and financial innovation.
