COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Digital Transformation in the Work Environment combines both theoretical insights and practical applications to understand the evolving organisation of work. The program emphasises hands-on learning, offering opportunities for students to apply classroom concepts in real-world contexts. For instance, students engage in field trips to organisations, formulate policy advice, and develop practical skills in coaching and consultancy. These experiences allow students to connect academic knowledge with professional practice and prepare them for future roles in technology-driven workplaces.The curriculum is designed to be multidisciplinary, with specialisation seminars taught by at least two professors from different academic fields, such as sociology and psychology. This approach ensures that students can analyse workplace phenomena from multiple perspectives and gain a comprehensive understanding of digitalisation in work and society. Classes are held in small groups, creating an interactive environment where discussion and collaboration are central to learning. Students explore how technological innovations affect organisational structures, employee behaviour, and overall work practices, and they learn to critically assess the benefits and challenges of these changes.For the master’s thesis, students can choose to work in a thesis group supervised by two professors from different disciplines, maintaining the program’s multidisciplinary focus. This supervision model provides broad academic perspectives and guidance throughout the research process. Alternatively, students can complete their thesis individually while still benefiting from dual supervision, ensuring access to diverse expertise and insights. Overall, the curriculum is structured to integrate theoretical knowledge, practical application, and multidisciplinary perspectives, equipping graduates with the skills and understanding necessary to manage and contribute to digital transformation initiatives effectively in modern organisational settings.
