COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mundus MAPP curriculum is structured across two academic years with mobility between partner institutions. In the first year, students study at either the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in the Netherlands or Central European University (CEU) in Vienna. The second year is spent at either the University of York in the United Kingdom or the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) in Spain. Each mobility track offers a tailored set of courses reflecting specific regional and thematic focuses.The ISS-IBEI track is designed for students interested in studying public policy with an emphasis on problem-situating approaches. It is particularly suited for those aiming for careers in international organisations, think tanks, NGOs, or research-oriented paths such as PhD programs. This track equips students with advanced analytical and practical skills to understand complex policy issues in diverse international contexts.The ISS-York track focuses on governance and development, with special attention to public policy challenges in developing countries. This track is ideal for students aiming to work in international organisations or policy roles that address development-related challenges. Graduates gain in-depth knowledge of governance structures, development policy, and global public policy frameworks, preparing them for careers in international institutions, government, or development-focused NGOs.Overall, the mobility-based curriculum allows students to benefit from diverse academic perspectives and international experiences while developing expertise in public policy, governance, and development. The program equips students with analytical, research, and practical skills to engage effectively in policymaking, research, and leadership roles across multiple sectors.
