COURSE CURRICULUM

The master specialisation in Company and Commercial Law provides a carefully structured curriculum designed to equip students with both academic depth and practical expertise. At the start of the program, students are introduced to the foundations of commercial and company law while developing crucial academic skills through the 15 EC Research & Writing Skills course. This course is mandatory and ensures students acquire the ability to conduct independent legal research and present their findings effectively in both written and oral form. Successful completion of this course is required before beginning the master thesis. The second block consists of two specialised 5 EC courses: Intellectual Property Law and International Corporate Governance, which provide insight into key issues at the intersection of law, business, and innovation. The third block deepens expertise with a comprehensive 10 EC course in Company Law and Restructuring, focusing on the complexities of corporate transformations. In the fourth block, students follow a 5 EC course in Commercial Law and complement this with a 5 EC elective that allows for a degree of personalisation within the program. The final block combines theory and practice with two 5 EC courses, Carriage of Goods and Trademark Law, alongside the master’s thesis, where students conduct independent research on a chosen legal issue. Beyond the classroom, students may participate in prestigious international moot competitions, earning 5 EC while developing teamwork, advocacy skills, and the opportunity to represent Erasmus University abroad. In addition, students can pursue extracurricular activities such as serving as an Associate Member of the TTLA or taking part in the Study Trip committee, both of which provide valuable professional development. This balanced mix of coursework, research, and practice prepares graduates for careers in international legal practice, business consultancy, or further academic study.
