COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Nanobiology at TU Delft and Erasmus MC is a full-time, 24-month program accredited by the NVAO, taught entirely in English, and carrying 120 ECTS credits. This program uniquely integrates methods and theories from physics and molecular biology with tools from mathematics and computational modelling to study the molecular basis of life. Students gain a deep understanding of the physical and biological processes at the nanoscale, learning to apply quantitative and analytical approaches to fundamental biomedical questions.The curriculum emphasises hands-on research and practical applications, preparing students to investigate complex molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying health and disease. Developments in biomedicine, such as human genome analysis and stem cell regulation, increasingly require precise quantitative descriptions and computational analysis. Students also explore the design and application of artificial biomolecules and nanoparticles, which hold significant promise for research, industrial biotechnology, and medical science. These skills enable graduates to contribute to advances in diagnostics, therapeutics, and the development of novel biomedical technologies.The program fosters interdisciplinary integration rather than mere collaboration between fields, allowing students to combine physics, biology, mathematics, and computer modelling into cohesive research approaches.
