COURSE CURRICULUM

The graduate programs at TU Delft offer Master of Science (MSc) and Doctoral (PhD) degrees in Engineering, with MSc programs typically spanning 24 months and taught entirely in English. These programs are designed to combine rigorous academic training with participation in cutting-edge research, reflecting the faculty’s position at the forefront of innovation and scientific discovery. Professors and research staff bring their expertise into the classroom, ensuring that students gain exposure to both theoretical foundations and the latest technological developments.Since September 2015, the MSc program in Electrical Engineering has been renewed to strengthen the connection between the department’s research capabilities and the career prospects of its graduates. The redesign, informed by feedback from alumni and the Industrial Advisory Board, allows students to focus on state-of-the-art technologies such as solar cells, smart sensors, and other emerging fields, while maintaining a broad knowledge base that supports continued innovation throughout their careers. This combination of depth and breadth ensures that graduates are prepared to address complex engineering challenges and contribute to technological advancement in both academic and industrial contexts.The program is structured over two years. The first year emphasizes theoretical study, practical assignments, and laboratory work, giving students a solid understanding of fundamental principles while allowing them to begin exploring their chosen field of interest. The second year is primarily devoted to specialisation and the graduation project, which may involve participation in one of the university’s advanced research or design projects or an equivalent assignment within industry. This project enables students to apply their knowledge to real-world problems, gain hands-on experience, and work alongside leading researchers and engineers.
