COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master’s program in Construction Management and Engineering (CME) equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to manage complex construction projects while maximising value for society. You will learn to design, apply, and develop systems and strategies for asset and project management, combining engineering expertise with managerial competences to address technical, financial, and organisational challenges. The program emphasises leadership, enabling you to steer construction processes effectively, make informed decisions under uncertainty, and manage risks based on data and well-founded assumptions.Collaboration and communication are central to CME, as students work in multidisciplinary teams composed of diverse talents, skills, personalities, and cultural backgrounds. This approach develops your ability to optimise team performance and navigate the interpersonal and organisational aspects of large construction projects. You will also gain expertise in developing information systems that enhance project efficiency and overall industry performance, integrating modern tools and techniques to support decision-making processes.The CME program is interfaculty and interdisciplinary, offering a unique perspective by combining knowledge and expertise from the Faculties of Civil Engineering & Geosciences, Architecture & the Built Environment, and Technology, Policy & Management. Additionally, you have the opportunity to follow courses at partner institutions such as the University of Twente and Eindhoven University of Technology, broadening your understanding through the 4TU CME network. By learning to integrate technical knowledge, management strategies, and societal considerations, graduates are prepared to take leadership roles in construction projects, contribute to innovation in the industry, and address the challenges of sustainable and efficient project delivery in an international context.
