COURSE CURRICULUM

The Joint Master’s program in Applied Geophysics, offered collaboratively by TU Delft, ETH Zurich, and RWTH Aachen, provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in geophysical methods essential for exploring and managing Earth’s subsurface. These methods are critical for the sustainable and environmentally responsible use of the subsurface, including geothermal and hydrocarbon energy, storage, infrastructure, and living space, as well as for preparing engineering structures against natural or human-made disasters. The program combines theoretical instruction with hands-on training, including simulations, data analysis exercises, fieldwork in surface exploration, and borehole logging, giving students a comprehensive understanding of applied geophysics.The program is closely linked with industry, benefiting from support through funding, scholarships, research opportunities, and the involvement of experts in lectures and supervision of Master’s thesis projects.
