COURSE CURRICULUM
The MSc Information Technology Management program, including a specialized Cybersecurity pathway, equips students with strategic, technical, and professional skills essential for modern IT roles. In the Cybersecurity Practices module, students gain hands-on experience in securing information systems, detecting and mitigating threats, and responding to incidents, with a focus on real-world challenges and solutions. The Incident Response Management module builds on this by teaching students to handle cybersecurity incidents through response planning, threat analysis, and recovery procedures. The core Digital Transformation module offers a strategic overview of integrating digital technologies across business operations, covering digital business models, leadership, data analytics, emerging technologies, and ethical implications. The Information Technology Project Management module develops the ability to plan, execute, and close IT projects using appropriate tools and techniques, while managing risks, resources, and stakeholders. The Information Technology Management module focuses on aligning IT strategy with business objectives and includes topics such as IT governance, service management frameworks, risk and contract management, and the strategic use of emerging technologies. The Research and Professional Skills module enhances students’ academic and practical competencies through training in research methodologies, data analysis, academic writing, project management, and ethical practices relevant to IT management. The program concludes with the Information Technology Management Project or Dissertation, where students independently research a topic related to their chosen pathway—such as cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, or IT management. This final module involves developing a proposal, conducting a literature review, executing research, analyzing data, and presenting findings, with opportunities for collaboration with industry partners. Collectively, these modules prepare graduates to manage IT systems effectively, lead digital innovation, respond to cybersecurity challenges, and contribute meaningful research in their area of specialization.
