COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree enhances students' career prospects in public health and related fields such as epidemiology, health promotion, and management and leadership. It also develops their ability to critically evaluate their knowledge, experience, and strengths to become effective senior officers and managers in various health-related organizations, including public, private, and non-profit sectors. The program requires students to complete six compulsory 10 ECTS modules and one 30 ECTS dissertation/project module. Core modules include Contemporary Issues and Ethics in Public Health, which explores current public health challenges, ethical dilemmas, and decision-making through lectures, case studies, and discussions. Health Research and Research Methods focuses on understanding and critically appraising health research using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, covering research ethics and communication. Introduction to Epidemiology provides foundational knowledge on measuring disease frequency, study design, data analysis, and practical application in public health. Quantitative Research Methods and Statistics covers statistical techniques, hypothesis testing, and software use for analyzing health data. The dissertation/project module involves an independent research project, from proposal to final written submission, to develop advanced research and communication skills. Additional specialized modules include Public Health for an Aging Population, Qualitative Research Methods in Health, Health Promotion and Health Improvement, Advanced Epidemiology, and Leadership and Management in Health, allowing students to tailor their learning to their career goals in public health.
