COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree enhances career opportunities in public health and related fields such as epidemiology, health promotion, and health management and leadership. It also strengthens students’ ability to critically assess their knowledge and skills to become effective senior officers and managers in various organizations across public, private, and non-profit sectors. The program requires completion of six compulsory 10 ECTS modules and one 30 ECTS dissertation/project module. Core modules include Contemporary Issues and Ethics in Public Health, which examines current challenges like health inequities, global health, and ethical decision-making through interactive learning and assessments. Health Research and Research Methods focuses on understanding and evaluating health research using qualitative and quantitative approaches, including research ethics and communication of findings. Introduction to Epidemiology covers epidemiological principles, study design, data analysis, and practical public health applications. Quantitative Research Methods and Statistics equips students with skills in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and use of software like SPSS or R for health data evaluation. The dissertation/project module involves independent research on a public health topic, including proposal development, literature review, data analysis, and dissemination of results, fostering advanced research and critical thinking skills. Additional specialized modules offered include Public Health for an Aging Population, Qualitative Research Methods in Health, Leadership and Management in Health, Advanced Epidemiology, and Health Promotion, providing students with tailored expertise aligned with their career goals in public health.
