COURSE CURRICULUM

The Professional Bachelor’s Study Programme in Business Administration is designed to provide competitive higher vocational education leading to a sixth-level professional qualification corresponding to EQF Level 6. The programme aims to prepare highly productive business management specialists capable of succeeding in both Latvian and international labour markets. It focuses on developing advanced knowledge and practical expertise in business management while strengthening students’ analytical, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Students gain comprehensive understanding of modern economic development, entrepreneurship, innovation, governance processes, and the functioning of various sectors of the economy. The programme also promotes the development of scientific research skills, innovative thinking, creativity, effective communication, and analytical reasoning, enabling graduates to adapt successfully to changing business environments and contribute to organisational growth. In addition, it supports the advancement of education and research in business management while enhancing the international competitiveness of higher education. Graduates are prepared for leadership positions in private companies, public institutions, and non-profit organisations, as well as for entrepreneurial ventures and postgraduate studies. Upon completion, graduates are able to analyse domestic and international economic environments, assess market trends and competitive conditions, evaluate business efficiency, develop business plans, and apply relevant business legislation. They can identify business development opportunities, assess internal and external environmental factors, formulate organisational missions and strategies, and establish strategic, tactical, and operational objectives. Graduates are equipped to analyse organisational performance, plan and improve operations, and adapt strategies in response to changing market conditions. They can effectively manage multicultural teams, coordinate departmental activities, motivate employees, supervise performance, and ensure organisational compliance with national and international regulations. Furthermore, they possess the skills required to manage key business functions including marketing, finance, human resources, logistics, service operations, and information management systems. They are capable of evaluating organisational results, monitoring progress toward objectives, making informed decisions to optimise performance, identifying and managing commercial and financial risks, and representing organisations in interactions with businesses, institutions, and government authorities. These competencies prepare graduates for successful careers in management and leadership within an increasingly global and competitive business environment.
